Texas oil field accident kills 2, injures 1

An accident that occurred in a Mitchell County oil field on Aug. 20 has left two men dead and a third man injured. According to reports, the three men were removing a pump jack using a winch truck when the winch cable supposedly made contact with an overhead power line. The third man, 32-years-old, suffered injuries and was taken by air to Lubbock hospital. His condition is said to be improving, and he is expected to be released soon.

Falling debris injures 6 at a Texas coal mine

An Aug. 14 coal mine accident in Thermo, Texas, caused six workers to suffer burns from falling debris. The mine was idle at the time of the accident. It was in the process of being reactivated to commence operations in the fall after being inactive for several months.

1 dead, 1 injured from molten material burns at steel plant

An accident at CMC Steel Texas claimed the life of one worker and left another injured. The Aug. 3 incident occurred at the plant's facility in Seguin when molten material spilled and caught fire, according to the report.

Texas construction worker killed in turnpike accident

Officials reported that a construction worker died after being hit on the turnpike in the vicinity of Lower Tarrant Road in Grand Prairie just after 12 a.m. on Aug. 4. While the man accused of causing the accident on the President George Bush Turnpike left the scene, he was apprehended later in the day.
